Week six of the 2025 NFL season

Real-time updates includes text commentary for Sunday's games on multiple platforms, starting with the Broncos-Jets clash at Tottenham (kicking off at 2 PM BST). Also, radio commentary is available on select stations for a separate game (from 21:00 BST).

It's week six in the football calendar , following recent talk about the Buffalo Bills and Philadelphia Eagles being possible championship contenders, they both surrendered their unbeaten records.

Notable during those contests was the number of penalties each conceded. Philadelphia did so at crucial times meaning they kind of beat themselves having led 17-3 going into the final quarter versus the Denver Broncos, who play overseas this Sunday.

But it was good to observe how Denver quarterback Bo Nix managed to overcome the shortfall and then lead three successful possessions in three attempts in the fourth quarter, to win the game 21-17.

Denver boast the defensive player of the year with cornerback their star corner. They are number one in goal-line defense, whereas Philadelphia are number one in red zone offence, yet the Broncos won that battle.

They executed effective strategies in terms of simulated pressure. They did not necessarily sending extra defenders but they could position two linebackers in the interior before drop them out and send a nickel from the outside.

At the start in the campaign, we said on a program how the Broncos might emerge as this season's surprise contenders. They finished the previous year strongly and excelled of building upon that.

Are the Denver Broncos this year's dark horses?

Recently acquired tight end Evan Engram has excelled big while recent running back their rusher is a guy the team trusts. He now ranks 5th league-wide for rushing yards (402) and tied-fourth in rushing scores (four).

It's impressive how head coach Sean Payton displays "RUSH!" prominently on his call sheet.

This demonstrates how Denver represent a team aiming to run first, because you can achieve much off the back of that. It reduces opposing rushes while maintains in favourable down and distances.

It's also helped quarterback the young passer, who entered the NFL as the 12th overall draft pick in the prior draft, passing for 29 TDs – second only to a star QB for the rookie record (31 in 2020).

Other elite QBs possess the arm strength to pass anywhere, but they don't move in the same way that Nix has. He has incredible arm talent, which is different, plus he's highly agile.

His assets are his mobility, the capacity to throw while moving, as well as finding varied release points to deliver the pass as he moves out of the pocket, on rollouts. He is able to throw that layered pass over the middle or past defenders.

As a rookie QB, aged 25, he displays great poise in the pocket and isn't really fazed by extra rushers. He tries to evade being tackled as much as possible and can pass under pressure. He possesses sharp intelligence and remains quick to decide.

If you constantly run the ball it consumes time and forces the opponent to stay in play extended periods, and if you've got an athletic quarterback the defense must defend the area vertically side to side. This proves draining.

Nix has pushed back with the coach on the sideline sometimes and I think the coach likes that fire, that he's a fierce rival. In my view it's exciting for the coach to coach a young quarterback who's similar to play-dough. He can really develop him how he wants to build it. I think it's a unique opportunity for the coach.

Payton owns a Super Bowl and has surpassed a legend for career NFL wins (173, tying for 14th). He has witnessed everything. In my opinion the success the Broncos are having on offence is largely down to his leadership, his schemes, his game sense – and the pairing with Nix aids make him into who he is.

You wouldn't want a better guy in your ear, to help you during difficult moments and build confidence.

I believe in the Broncos' defense, in Bo Nix's tenacity and composure. But is the team good enough to go against a top squad at full strength? Because that was not a Super Bowl performance from Philadelphia last Sunday.

Currently, I don't think Denver are elite. They're working better than most, which is a solid position to hold the AFC West. All they need is to continue this path.

They're really good at embracing their strength, that is running the ball, and that's precisely what they must do against the Jets at Tottenham. It's going to be the JK Dobbins show, essentially.

The Jets have surrendered 140 yards on the ground per game (sixth worst), five rushing touchdowns so far (in the bottom ten), and they're the sole squad yet to win any game.

Since the NFL began tracking turnovers in 1933, the Jets are also the first team to go without any turnovers in five outings, this is kind of shocking when you think that the head coach Aaron Glenn a defensive coach with another team.

Patrick Mahomes stated the Chiefs are off to a poor start following Monday's defeat by the Jaguars.

Following the upcoming matchup, Denver have a manageable slate up to their bye (in week twelve) - the Giants, the Cowboys, Houston Texans plus the Raiders before the Kansas City Chiefs.

Looking at their division, the Chiefs are 2-3 and the Broncos are even with the Los Angeles Chargers on 3-2 meaning they could challenge at leading the West.

This hinges on which form of the Chiefs they meet because the Broncos {beat|def
