President Trump Invites Families of Attacked National Guard Members to White House

President Trump stated on Sunday that he has invited the relatives of a Guard member tragically killed last week to attend the executive mansion.

He mentioned that he conversed with her family and they were “deeply grieving”.

Information on the Heartbreaking Event

US army specialist Beckstrom, twenty years old, was killed in a violent incident on last Wednesday in Washington DC.

Her colleague, US air force staff Sgt Andrew Wolfe, 24, remains hospitalized in grave state.

Vigils across the state have taken place in their honor.

Presidential Invitation

The commander-in-chief explained he’s discussed a meeting at the presidential residence for the loved ones of both individuals of the state Guard.

“I stated: ‘When you’re prepared, because that’s a tough thing, come to the White House. We’re going to pay tribute to Sarah,” Trump told the press. “And in the same way with him, recover or not.”

Public Response

Mourners came together over the weekend at a local school in West Virginia to remember Sarah.

Both the soldiers had been fulfilling duties with the West Virginia National Guard as part of Trump’s national effort to aid public safety in Washington DC.

Remembering the Soldier

“She was the type of pupil that teachers hoped for. She behaved with quiet strength, a bright grin and a upbeat demeanor that inspired those around her,” Hankins, the leader of her previous school, informed the Associated Press. “She was kind, caring and always eager to help others.”

Service plans for Beckstrom are yet to be finalized.

Legal Actions and Policy Changes

Law enforcement have charged a 29-year-old Afghan national with one count of murder and charges of attempted murder while armed.

The tragedy prompted the government to suspend asylum applications and halt issuing visas to holders of travel documents.

Condition of Andrew Wolfe

Wolfe, a native of the city, began his service in early 2019 and is a 2019 graduate of Musselman High, per the AP.

He is still undergoing care and is “battling to survive”, West Virginia leader Morrisey mentioned on television.

The state’s top lawyer the attorney general informed a news show that she also intended to speak to the family.

Memory of Beckstrom

Beckstrom, from Summersville, graduated from Webster County High in June 2023 and enlisted soon after, working as a military police officer with distinction, according to the West Virginia National Guard.

“She had a lot of compassion and she certainly had courage,” he informed the crowd at the service. “Though her time lasted far too short, she has made an impact that’s going to endure.”
