Within the intensely cutthroat realm of gaming, it's common for emerging rivals to fade away as quickly as they burst on to the stage.

Yet the latest Battlefield is aiming to change that.

Here comes the most recent addition in a long-standing combat FPS franchise commonly positioned as a more authentic alternative to its main competitor.

The title has not quite been able to match its top rival in regards of revenue or user base, but indicators suggest the recent entry could close the gap.

Their "reaction was explosively favorable," says the manager.

A further omitted element from the previous installment was a story mode, which has been brought back for this release.

Criterion project head Fasahat "Fas" Salim is the individual tasked with "ensuring those missions are as enjoyable and compelling as can be for the players."

In spite of allegations that the size of the title had challenged the various teams partnering globally to build the game, the director is optimistic about the work.

"Working with varied cultures, distinct experiences, it's a very interesting environment to be involved in on a regular basis," he says.

"This entire strategy has been something new but also truly thrilling because we are collaborating with individuals from internationally."

Regarding the anticipation on the developers, Fas says: "We experience stress but also it's thrilling.

"It's a large venture. It's probably the largest that most of us have previously been involved in."

New Developer Contributes New View

That's certainly correct of no less than an individual developer, VFX specialist Vlad.

The 21-year-old produces the atmospheric effects that define the mood, style, and focus of the single-player campaign.

He undertook an internship at the studio before getting a role with them, and currently is employed with reduced hours while finishing his VFX degree at Bournemouth University.
