The star has donated the full amount of his twenty-five thousand pound award prize money to the Music Venues Trust, which functions to preserve the UK's independent live music spots.
Fender was awarded the award on October 16 as his third album his work was declared the best record of the last 12 months.
Fender has opted to give the cash to the trust, in appreciation of the vital role local spots had in his beginning days.
"I would not have achieved this success if it hadn't been for all the performances I played around the region, and further afield, when I was beginning," said Sam Fender. "These locations are iconic, but they are in difficulty."
Beginning in 2023, over 150 of these locations have shut down – about 16% of the entire UK sector.
In the last year, top acts such as Pulp, Coldplay, Katy Perry and Ed Sheeran have all aided the MVT in its attempts to help venues survive, by applying a modest fee to their ticket prices, which supports smaller concert halls.
Fender also took part, raising more than £100,000 on his 2024 arena tour to help numerous local spots across England, Scotland, and Wales.
The donation helped venues that were facing possible closure due to difficulties caused by flooding, fires and family tragedies, as well as licensing issues, court cases and sound issues.
Some locations were granted monetary aid in upgrading amenities and technical equipment that directly benefitted artists and audiences.
"The idea that funds from shows in large arenas supports the smaller venues, where it begins for artists like me, is just logical," Sam Fender has commented.
He is not the first artist to give his honor prize money to worthy causes.
When Pulp won the prize in the year 1996 for their release the album, vocalist Jarvis Cocker stated that the act would donate their prize money to the non-profit the charity.
That year, artist the artist shared her bounty across a few good causes, like the children's charity and a Sickle Cell organization.
"And I gave a thousand pounds to the center, to their gymnastics class, because I did gymnastics when I was younger and they lacked updated gear," Ms Dynamite shared with the media.
In recent years, they contributed their prize money to the local youth club that nurtured their group, in addition to other independent music bodies.
And 1994 winners they contributed their prize to a charity for MS after a friend was identified with the illness.
"Receiving the award was ample," remarked artist the singer. "The money was the cherry on top but we didn't require the extra, because we had the cake. So our success touched another person's life."
In the past week, the MVT revealed it had protected several grassroots venues in south-east England, by placing them under community ownership.
One venue in that area and The Croft in the city were acquired under the public acquisition scheme, which is backed by Arts Council England and enthusiasts who buy "shares" in the properties.
