The Perfect Pokémon Tales: Z-A Mega Evolution Based on the Zodiac Sign

The return of Mega Evolutions in Pokémon Legends: Z-A has ignited widespread enthusiasm within the fandom. From the gradual reveal of newcomers ahead of the title's launch, to players forming strong views on the full lineup of Mega Evolutions, there's a lot for fans to anticipate.

Given many of the Super Forms boasting unique appearances that emphasize their traits, one idea naturally: How can link this with astrology? This list is based on a blend of intuition, sign stereotypes, and individual observations.

Aries – Mega Camerupt

Honestly, Houndour's evolution was nearly chosen for Aries, as both are the Mega Pokémon and zodiac symbol that inspire the greatest apprehension. However, a Mega Houndoom appears as constantly furious, which isn't typical of the Ram's energy, renowned for being fun, cheerful, and spontaneous. That's why Aries much more similar to Super Camerupt, which only erupts when angered. Stay on the friendly side of both and enjoy a powerful ally; if you cross them, be ready to face the consequences.

Taurus – Super Heracross

Similar to a devoted Bull, the reliable Heracross, whether in its standard and Mega form, has aided many players in Legends: Z-A. While dependable, each the creature and a Bull are also Fighting types, and – whether it's their companion or a strong opinion – will defend their position unwaveringly. The thing about Super Heracross that reminds me most of my Bull-sign companions, though, is its unabashed love of snacks. Several previous official descriptions note their fondness for sweet tree sap and how it uses its appendage to hoard it everything, which is true Taurus energy.

Gemini – Super Medicham

Look at this absolute queen. You cannot convince me this creature is not the life of any gathering, providing an endless fountain of gossip to anyone who wants to listen. Much like an captivating, sociable Gemini, it's very easy to imagine Mega Medicham mesmerizing an entire Wild Zone with their tales. Medicham’s Pokédex entry also states its ability to foresee an enemy’s future actions, which sounds very like a socially-savvy Twins.

The Crab – Super Manectric

Cancer is commonly considered as the most emotional member of the zodiac, a passionate sign known for often getting wrapped up in their feelings. Per the Pokédex, Super Evolution charges the creature with a “tremendous amount of electricity, but it's excessive for Manectric to completely control,” which sounds a lot like a classic Cancer crash-out. This Pokémon is also recognized for its capability to create a storm cloud over its own self – and if there’s a single trait a Cancer is going to do, it’s rain on their good time.

Leo – Mega Starmie

Well, did you think I was going to select Pyroar for the king of the stars? Besides the reality that it would be far too obvious, Leo is clearly Super Starmie, the star whose legs just went viral for being extremely glamorous (or horrifying, based on your taste). Fans couldn’t look away from the violet sea star, and that’s precisely the same energy a Lion brings to the scene. Starmie is also rumored to be transmitting radio waves from its red core out into space, and it’s just like a Leo to be staging a performance, even if for aliens.

The Maiden – Super Victreebel

The always-ready and perpetually-anxious Virgo is ideally represented in Super Victreebel, the Mega with constant acid reflux. The zodiac symbol famous for being charmingly critical is strongly mirrored throughout this Pokémon’s whole evolutionary chain, from a perpetually shocked face like a Maiden when you tell them you don’t have a retirement plan, to its inverted visage that’s just like the emoji a Maiden sends to the chatroom when all says they want to “go with the flow” rather than making a strategy.

Libra – Super Audino

Look at this sweet, sensitive being, who employs the sensors on its auditory organs to detect how people are feeling by their pulse. Always empathetic – occasionally to a fault – and trying to maintain the peace, there are many Libras who would probably appreciate Super Audino's abilities. However, let’s be honest, it would probably just cause them to stress more about everyone else.

The Scorpion – Mega Banette

This Ghost-type is a Pokémon with a unexpectedly tragic origin: Discarded as a toy, it gained consciousness through pure resentment and swore retribution on its previous caretaker. According to the Pokédex, Mega Evolution, “increases its spitefulness.” That seems exactly like several conversations I’ve had with my scary Scorpio acquaintances. A Scorpio adores karma and retribution, making them the perfect match with Super Banette.

Sagittarius – Super Hawlucha

Each Mega Hawlucha and Archers are always putting on a show. As a Sagittarius myself, the amount of occasions I’ve called myself some variation of a “playful small entertainer” is countless. The showiest and most obnoxious Mega Evolution, its Pokédex entry even mentions how it “poses to show off its strength.” I would do the exact same thing if I had a Super Form, making Super Hawlucha the most apt Archer counterpart I can think of.

The Goat – Super Absol

Did you know that a Super Absol has the ability to predict disasters ahead of time? That gives the identical energy as a Capricorn, who often consistently believe they’re correct. Interestingly, similar to a prophetic Mega Absol, they frequently are. It’s also the absolute first Mega Evolution that trainers encounter in Legends: Z-A – just like a Capricorn to join the ground floor of the Super Form craze.

Aquarius – Super Chandelure

Detached element Water Bearer is possibly the non-fire sign that is closest to a fire sign – its counterpart is Leo, and there are numerous jokes about Sagittarius and Aquarius being chaotic accomplices. Mega Chandelure’s dual Ghost/Fire category matches perfectly with this, and the Mega’s general intimidating aura is also extremely Water Bearer. If you hadn't yet convinced, the Super Form's Pokédex entry says it “draws in hatred and transforms it into strength.” If that doesn’t exactly {encaps
