The visionary game developer, the mind behind the immensely successful video game Call of Duty, has tragically died in a vehicle crash in California at the age of 55.

Zampella's death was announced by Electronic Arts, the parent company of Respawn Entertainment, the development studio that he helped create.

The celebrated industry figure lost his life when his automobile collided and burst into flames on a freeway in the Los Angeles area on Sunday morning, according to.
